Barcelona are reportedly close to completing a deal to sign Alvaro Morata, with the trade stated to be ’95 percent finalised.’
Morata is now in the second season of a two-year loan with Juventus, who have decided not to buy him permanently and will return him to parent club Atletico Madrid at the end of the season.
Barcelona are attempting to take over Morata’s loan contract, with new boss Xavi reportedly a huge fan of the 29-year-old.
According to sources close to the situation, the deal is “95 percent done,” with only “insignificant technicalities” remaining to be worked out before Morata can be confirmed as a new Barcelona player.
It’s thought that the only thing standing in the way is a deal with Morata’s agent. Barcelona has already agreed to terms with both Juventus and Atletico Madrid, intending to recruit the striker on a six-month loan with an option to buy in the future.
